Bra Horror: The First Bra Moment

Read as Melissa Chapman reminisces on her most embarrassing bra moment, the first time bra episode. We've all had them, and no matter how much we glamorize the moment in our heads, the majority of them end up in embarrassment giving us complex about bra fitting from that day forward. Here's an expert from Melissa's story:

She (Melissa's Mom) was determined to get my “girls” into a bra sooner than later and believed the only way to do so, was to go and get a proper fitting. I can still recall the scent of Bengay tinged with mothballs, as my mother and I walked into “Olga’s Lingerie” shop where we were quite literally tackled by a stout, grey-haired woman (who, twenty years later I’m sure was extremely well-meaning!) who made a bee-line for my- up-until that very moment untouched virginal boobs. She then grabbed one with her hand and took a squeeze, exclaiming in a very mater-of-fact way that indeed I would be in need of a supportive bra. At this point I think my soul may have exited my body, the embarrassment of having this strange woman accost me, was more than I could bear! On the other hand my mother- beamed proudly nodding her head in agreement with this aggressive saleslady and echoed her sentiments. I could go into greater details but honestly the flashbacks are too darn cringe-worthy!

Why You Need A Nude Bra This Fall

Although Fall is known as the time to put away your summer wardrobe and start wearing warmer colors, light scarves and thin long sleeve shirts, your nude bra is one thing you don't want to put away with the summer clothes.

This year Fall is not the same as it used to be....it's bright, it's off the shoulder and it's a little more edgier than usual. Plus, who says you have to follow all the fashion rules? Here are a few reasons why this fall you don't need to pack away your nude bra.

This fall, black and white make a ceremonious come back. In the past, wearing white in the fall or winter was taboo, now pairing it with black is chic. Coming down the runway are some stunning combination of black and white that you'll love...and that you'll need your MySkins' nude bra for.

Another hit this fall is bright colors...especially neon. The hottest neon color is pink, but other colors are also hitting the runway as well. With bright colors still in the picture, your nude bra should be as well.

Lastly, one shoulder dresses are everywhere, on the streets, on the red carpet, down the runways...basically around every corner this fall. Fear not, with a MySkins convertible bra, you can conquer the one shoulder trend with no problem.

And that's not all! Other trends like strapless ruffled dresses, edgy little black dresses, and accordion blouses are all more reasons while your nude bra and underwear should be around all year!

Bra Horror!! Freshmen Exposure

Talk about embarrassing. When Kayla was in high school not even her sports bra could protect her from a Freshman ritual. Here's her story:

"Two years ago I was on the volleyball team at my high school. I was a freshman that year and my school was kind of big on always picking on the underclassmen. So, I was changing after a game once, and I was next to some juniors and seniors on the team as well. I was taking my sports bra off and right when I got it off, two of them grab me and push me outside in a thong and no bra. I was banging on the door and then I saw the whole varsity football team walking by and whistling and staring at my exposed breasts. I ended up running around to the back of the building and hid until one of my friend's walked out with my stuff. It was the most embarassing moment ever."

Poor Kayla! To avoid embarrassing bra stories of your youth, remember to finally get the right bra. Try a MySkins' bra in 20 skin tone matching colors and leave those embarrassing moments behind.

Will You Wear White After Labor Day?

Is it okay to wear white after Labor Day? Where did these rules come from? These are all fashionable questions that have been hard to answer over the years. To understand the white after Labor Day rule, you have to understand where it came from... and the truth is no one knows. According to Wise Geek:

"In many parts of the United States, a rule about not wearing white after Labor Day, which takes place on the first Monday in September, is heavily ingrained....There are several theories about the the rule which governs people who wear white after Labor Day. The first and most sensible is that it reminded people not to wear summer weight clothing during the Winter. It may be tempting to don a pair of light pumps in the crisp weather of early fall, but changing weather can make it an unwise decision. By not wearing white shoes after Labor Day, people can ensure that they don't end up with soiled, cold shoes. It is also conceivable that the rule not to wear white after Labor Day was adopted as part of a larger movement to “educate” the nouveau riche. Older society families were concerned about the fashion etiquette of more recent additions, and established a complex code of fashion rules to guide them."

Our thoughts? Forget the old fashion rules and wear what you want, and white is a fabulous color to wear after Labor Day...especially when you live in place where it never really gets cold. Actually, according to a Fab Sugar pole done this week, 89% of fashionistas, no matter what the weather, thinks it’s a stupid rule that's made to be broken.

So forget the fashion no's and go with your own style based on your lifestyle and climate situation. And when wearing white, don't forget MySkins seamless bras and panties which are invisible under white or sheer clothing.
